Install shots from ‘Accidentally On Purpose’

“Sacrificial Anode references the circular systems that exist between the natural landscape, energy consumption, technology and human behavior. Based on architectural forms of sub-station electricity transformers, the core and coil of these units has been cast in dyed resin, speculating on what the defunct machinery of future forms of fallen energy systems might look like. Rice paper insertions in the shape of arrows are cast into the resin, aligned into a perpetually rotating circle. These digital collages of design diagrams, topological maps and reference images are overlaid with words such as FOLKLORE, ENERGY, MINERALS, TECHNOLOGY, CULTURE.”Text by Charlie Mills.
